Escalating security chaos | Fight erupt among young men in Rif Dimashq, leaving one dead

Rif Dimashq province: A civilian was stabbed to death with a bladed weapon following an infighting among a group of young men in Harasta city in Rif Dimashq.


This coincides with the escalating security chaos in regime-controlled areas.


The Syrian Observatory has documented 127 murders in regime-controlled areas since early 2024, where domestic violence and armed robberies were behind some of these murders, while motives behind the others remained unknown. These murder crimes left 138 fatalities: seven children, 21 women and 110 young and adult men. The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:


  • Daraa: 37 murder crimes left 31 men, three children and eight women dead.


  • Al-Suwaidaa: 11 murder crimes left nine men a little boy and a woman dead.


  • Rif Dimashq: 29 murder crimes left 25 men, two children and seven women dead.


  • Homs: 14 murder crimes left 13 men and a little girl dead.


  • Hama: Seven murder crimes left seven men dead.


  • Al-Hasakah: Two murder crimes left two men dead.


  • Deir Ezzor: Eight murder crimes left seven men and a woman dead.


  • Damascus: Five murder crimes left two women and three men dead.


  • Latakia: Four murder crimes left four men and a woman dead.


  • Tartus: Six murder crimes left five men dead.


  • Al-Quneitra: One murder crime left a man dead.


  • Aleppo: Three murder crimes left a woman and two men dead.
