Amid state of high alert | Members of regime forces stationed at checkpoint arrest four young men in northern Daraa countryside

Daraa province: Members of regime forces stationed at “Mankat Al-Hatab” checkpoint arrested four young men from Damascus, including a media activist, for unknown reasons, amid a state of high alert in the region.

Meanwhile, a local armed group in Inkhil city in western Daraa, besieged the cultural center where regime forces are stationed, demanding the release of the four detainees.

It is worth noting that the arrested young men were members of local factions before they had struck a reconciliation deal in 2018.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that regime forces and security services continued their arbitrary arrests against civilians in areas under their control, where SOHR documented the arbitrary arrest of 19 civilians, including two women, since early May; they are distributed regionally as follows:

  • Daraa: Three civilians, including a woman.

  • Rif Dimashq: Five civilians.

  • Homs: Two civilians.

  • Deir Ezzor: Six civilians, including a woman.

  • Hama: Three civilians.
