After demands by political parties | Autonomous Administration postpones municipal elections in northern and eastern Syria

The Autonomous-Administration announced the postponement of the municipal elections, which were scheduled to be held on the 11th of this month, until August. This was stated in a statement issued by the High Elections Commission, which attributed the reason for the postponement to demands by several political parties.
It is noted that the “Autonomous Administration” had announced the holding of elections that were scheduled to be held on 11th of this month, which met with many responses opposing the elections from political parties in the regions of northern and eastern Syria. Turkey also made direct threats to launch a military operation in the region if these elections were held.
