Affected by his injuries | Asayish member dies following clashes between two families in Al-Qamishli city

Al-Hasakah province: A member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) died of the wounds he sustained, while attempting to break up clashes between two families in Al-Antariyah neighbourhood in Al-Qamishli city.

 

A few hours ago, SOHR sources reported that clashes erupted between two families in Al-Antariyah neighbourhood in Al-Qamishli city in northern Al-Hasakah, which resulted in the injury of an Asayish member.

 

Meanwhile, a state of tension and disorder prevail in the region, amid appeals by residents to the city’s elders and dignitaries to interfere and settle the despite between the two families.

 

This coincides with the escalating security chaos in SDF-controlled areas.

 

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 59 since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 31 people, including a woman and a child, dead and 125 others injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 42 infightings left 11 persons, including a child, dead and 75 others, including an Asayish member, injured.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: Six infightings left 12 people dead and 23 others injured.

 

  • Aleppo: Four infightings left two civilians dead and 16 others, including an Asayish member, injured.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Seven infightings left six persons, including a woman and an Asayish member, dead and 11 others injured.
