days after SOHR confirmed | Turkish forces prepare to open Abo Al-Zandin Crossing in the following hours
Aleppo province: Turkish-backed factions work on preparing buildings and roads in Abo Al-Zandin Crossing in Aleppo countryside under Turkish supervision, to open the crossing in the following 48 hours.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the crossing will be operated by Turkish side.
This comes nearly 15 days after SOHR confirmed the details of the agreement between Russian and Turkish sides.
The opening of the crossing will allow civilians and merchants to travel from regime-held areas and areas of the factions in northern of Aleppo.
On June 13, SOHR learned from its sources that Russian and Turkish forces are preparing to open Abu Al-Zandein crossing near Al-Bab city in Aleppo countryside. The crossing separates Abu Al-Zandein village from its farms in regime areas.
In this context, the Russian forces brought military reinforcement to the area of the crossing to be opened in the coming days.
Cities and towns within “Euphrates Shield” areas in Aleppo countryside witnessed popular protests, rejecting the attempt of the entry of a Russian delegation to the area with the United Nations by Turkish forces and “National Army”.
The demonstrators lifted placards with slogans that read: “Interim Government and Salvation Government are mercenaries” and “Liberator is one, you will only enter on our bodies”.
The protesters also ran over the Syrian and Russian flags.
