In fourth operation within “SDF” areas coinciding with anniversary of announcement of “Al-Baghdadi” caliphate | “ISIS” cells assassinate imam of mosque west of Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Yesterday evening, “ISIS” cells on a motorcycle, assassinated the imam of a mosque after he left the evening prayer in Sabaghah area in Al-Jarzat desert in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, within SDF-held areas. According to SOHR activists, the killed man is considered A member of the local council “Komin” in the area, and was targeted with direct bullets, before they fled to an unknown destination.
“ISIS” cells intensified their operations on the anniversary day of the announcement of “Al-Baghdadi” caliphate, as this operation is considered the fourth of its kind in less than 24 hours, carried out by “ISIS” cells in “SDF” areas and distributed as follows:
– Assassination of an employee working in the municipality of Al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
– “ISIS” cells launched a surprise attack, using machineguns, targeting oil tanks of the “Autonomous Administration” in Jadid Bakarah village, east of Deir Ezzor.
– “ISIS” cells launched an attack, targeting oil tanks, in Al-Dahlah village, east of Deir Ezzor.

SOHR has documented 142 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks, executions and explosions targeting military and security forces, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 77 fatalities:

49 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

11 ISIS members.

Four guards worked for the Autonomous Administration.

13 civilians, including a child, a witch and an employee in the Autonomous Administration.

These operations are distributed regionally as follows:

Deir Ezzor: 121 attacks left 37 combatants, 12 civilians, including a child, an employee in the Autonomous Administration and a witch, and seven ISIS members dead.

Al-Hasakah: 13 attacks left seven combatants, four ISIS members and a civilian dead.

Al-Raqqah: Eight attacks left six combatants and four guards of civil institutions of the Autonomous Administration dead.
