IS*IS resurgence | Gu*nmen set fire to oil well in a village in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: ISIS cells target all those opposing them including civilians and military combatants in SDF-held areas for different reasons, such as “not paying zakat.”

On the same context, gunmen of ISIS cells set fire to Al-Khashan oil well in Al-Jarzy Al-Sharqy Village eastern of Deir Ezzor within SDF-held areas, after the owners refused to pay zakat to ISIS cells, before fleeing to an unknown destination. However, no casualties were reported.

SOHR has documented 145 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks, executions and explosions targeting military and security forces, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 77 fatalities:

49 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

11 ISIS members.

Four guards worked for the Autonomous Administration.

13 civilians, including a child, a witch and an employee in the Autonomous Administration.

These operations are distributed regionally as follows:

Deir Ezzor: 123 attacks left 38 combatants, 12 civilians, including a child, an employee in the Autonomous Administration and a witch, and seven ISIS members dead.

Al-Hasakah: 13 attacks left seven combatants, four ISIS members and a civilian dead.

Al-Raqqah: Eight attacks left six combatants and four guards of civil institutions of the Autonomous Administration dead.
Aleppo: One attack.
