Disregarding “Interim Government” | Turkish authorities appoint dozens of judges within “Euphrates Shield” and “Olive Branch” areas

Ankara dominates all civil institutions in “Olive Branch” and “Euphrates Shield” areas, in addition to its complete military control over the region, where it controls the appointment and dismissal of employees, the determination and payment of salaries in Turkish lira and their punishment.

Among the most prominent of these institutions are the judicial ones, which are completely subordinated by Turkish authorities despite the sensitivity of these institutions and their role in issuing judgments against those individuals involved in crimes or other criminal cases.

Reliable SOHR sources confirmed that the Turkish coordinator for the Ministry of Justice of the Syrian interim government “Murad” issued a list containing dozens of judges whom he chose to be appointed in the “Euphrates Shield” and “Olive Branch” areas within courts affiliated with the Ministry of Justice in the “Syrian Interim Government.”

The decision to appoint the judges came directly from him without consulting any officials in the “Syrian Interim Government,” which dare not disobey Turkish authorities’ orders and decisions.

According to the sources, every ministry in the “Syrian Interim Government” is supervised by a Turkish coordinator whose mission is to completely administrate the ministry, acting as a de facto prime minister whose orders, which come directly from Ankara, must be executed without question.

This absolute dominance leads to increasong public discontent within areas controlled by Turkish forces and their proxies. People reject Turkey’s governance, where Syrians find themselves have no role regarding administrating these areas but to carry out these instructions. Residents confirm their refusal to marginalize the role of Syrians and the Turkish side’s unilateral dominance over military and political decisions.
