After announcing start of reconciliation | Regime forces pressure civilians to undergo reconciliation in Daraa

Regime forces brought military reinforcements to checkpoints on the road between Jassem City and Kafr Shams Town northern of Daraa, to pressure civilians to undergo reconciliation and hand over their weapons in Inkhil and Jassem Cities.

Earlier today, dozens of civilians and combatants wanted by regime forces, in addition to deserters and those evading mandatory and reserve military service, headed to the Cultural Centre in Al-Baa’th city in Al-Qunaitrah countryside, which is under the control of the regime forces, to settle their status with the regime and have their names removed from the security lists.
According to reliable SOHR sources the comprehensive reconciliation process has begun today and will continue for four days.
It is worth noting that the reconciliation process is supervised by the specialized authorities affiliated with regime forces in the city.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that regime forces prepared for establishing a new reconciliation centre in the cultural centre in Al-Baath city in Al-Quneitra province, where people of Al-Quneitra province can settle their security situations with the Syrian regime during the period between August 4 and August 7.
The new reconciliation covers military deserters, people who passed their date of joining the mandatory service to regime’s security branches, suspects involved in security and/or military issues and individuals possessing weapons.
According to the reconciliation’s terms, individuals possessing weapons can hand over their weapons to the security and military committees in Al-Quneitra province in return for removing their names from security lists, while military deserters will be given a time limit of 15 days to join their military units which they had escaped from or join military formations operating in the southern region in return for removing their names from security lists.
Also, individuals who desire to join military formations in the southern region have to join those formations immediately after appearing before the reconciliation committee.
Similarly, police men escaping from their service will be given a time limit of 15 days to join their police stations in return for removing their names from security lists.
