After threatening messages demanding them to pay zakat | “ISIS” cells attack house of oil investor in Deir Ezzor countryside
Deir Ezzor province: An oil investor was injured in an attack carried out by ISIS cells on his house in Al-Tukihi town in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where he was targeted with machineguns, for refusing to pay zakat to “ISIS”. The injured person was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the attackers fled to an unknown destination.
According to SOHR activists, ISIS cells sent threatening messages to oil investors and oil tanks that transport oil from Al-Busayrah city and its villages in the northern and eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, demanding them to pay zakat under threat of death.
SOHR has documented 165 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks, executions and explosions targeting military and security forces, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 84 fatalities:
53 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.
11 ISIS members.
Four guards worked for the Autonomous Administration.
20 civilians, including a child and a witch.
A driver working for “Al-Qaterji” militia.
These operations are distributed regionally as follows:
Deir Ezzor: 142 attacks left 40 combatants, 14 civilians, including a child and a witch, seven ISIS members and a driver working for “Al-Qaterji” militia dead.
Al-Hasakah: 13 attacks left seven combatants, four ISIS members and a civilian dead.
Al-Raqqah: Nine attacks left six combatants and four guards of civil institutions of the Autonomous Administration dead.
Aleppo: One operation.
