After decline of its attacks | “ISIS” launches surprise attack on regime military sites in Palmyra desert
Homs province: “ISIS” cells carried out a surprise attack on military sites of the regime forces and the militias supporting them in Palmyra desert in the eastern countryside of Homs, which led to the eruption of armed clashes between both sides, amid information about causalities among the ranks of the regime forces.
This attack comes after the decline in the intensity of “ISIS” attacks in different areas in the Syrian desert during July.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2024 has increased to 478; and they are as follows:
29 ISIS members, three of whom were killed in Russian airstrikes and the others were killed by regime forces and their proxy militias.
400 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including 33 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen and three members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, were killed in 173 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs.
49 civilians, including a child, a sorcerer and a woman, were killed in attacks by ISIS in the Syrian Desert.

-Deir Ezzor desert: 61 operations left 147 fatalities:
119 combatants, including 14 Iranian-backed militiamen.
Eight ISIS members.
20 civilians, including 17 truffle pickers, among them there was a woman.
-Homs desert: 77 operations left 222 fatalities:
189 combatants, including 15 Iranian-backed militiamen.
18 ISIS members.
16 civilians, including two truffle pickers.
-Al-Raqqah desert: 22 operations left 73 fatalities:
56 combatants, including two Iranian-backed militiamen.
Three ISIS members.
Four civilians, including two truffle pickers.
-Hama desert: 11 operations left 42 fatalities:
35 combatants, including an Iranian-backed militiaman.
Seven civilians, including a child.
-Aleppo: Two operations left five combatants, including three Iranian-backed militiamen, dead.
