Threatening to kill him | Armed gang kidnaps young man in Homs countryside and demands ransom for his release
Homs province: Members of an armed gang kidnapped a young man near “Shein” bridge in western Homs countryside, while he was on his way to Lebanon through routes used for smuggling.
According to reliable SOHR sources the young man was tortured, where the gunmen sent a video to his family, demanding a ransom for his release.
SOHR activists have reported that the kidnaps, which have recently taken place in Homs province, were concentrated on Homs-Tartus highway and several off routes used by smugglers to deliver people seeking a safe haven to Lebanese territory. However, the familiarity of members and leaders of “Shujaa Al-Ali” gang of the region’s geography has enabled them to set ambushes for cars of smugglers and take the passengers to their headquarters by force.
On August 3, SOHR sources reported that a group of gunmen affiliated to “Shujaa Al-Ali” kidnapped five women from Nawa city in Daraa province in south Syria, while attempting to sneak into Lebanese territory with the help of a smuggler.
