Siege of Al-Hasakah and Al-Qamishli continues for fourth day | Officer injured and six regime soldiers lost in clashes with “Asayish”

Al-Hasakah province: SDF continue to besiege the two security zones in both Al-Qamishli and Al-Hasakah for the fourth consecutive day since Wednesday, August 7, which affected the residents’ ability to obtain drinking water, and increased their suffering with the increase in disease cases, as a result of the residents resorting to undrinkable water in light of the high temperatures and the increased demand for water.
In light of the ongoing suffering for four days, international and humanitarian organisations are absent from assuming their responsibilities and taking the initiative to help the residents and neutralize military operations from threatening the lives of civilians.
In another context, SOHR learned that a lieutenant colonel was injured as a result of the clashes in Mujeibrah near Al-Hasakah, and contact was lost with a group of six members whose fate is still unknown.
Earlier today, SOHR reported that three regime soldiers were killed and eight others were captured with their military equipment, as a result of the eruption of violent clashes during the past hours, between the latter’s forces on the one hand and the internal security forces “Asayish” on the other hand, in Mujeibrah village in Al-Hasakah countryside.
According to information obtained by SOHR activists, the clashes began after robbery gangs and gunmen attacked checkpoints of the internal security forces “Asayish” on the road between Al-Hawl and Al-Shaddadi in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, prompting “Asayish” to respond and take control of the village.
After the clashes ended, both the internal security forces and commando forces launched a large-scale combing campaign in the villages adjacent to Mujeibrah village, in addition to the road between Al-Hawl and Al-Shaddadi, in search of the gunmen.
Shortly before, SOHR reported that “SDF” and the internal security forces “Asayish” took control of Mujeibrah village in Al-Hasakah countryside and two checkpoints for the regime forces in the vicinity of the village, and expelled the regime-backed gunmen from it, and the military forces are now on the outskirts of Kawkab military regiment, within which the regime forces are stationed, after violent clashes and mutual shelling with heavy weapons and artillery after midnight on Friday-Saturday, while cautious calm returned to the area this morning.
The villages in Jabal Kawkab are considered areas where gangs of robbery are widespread, and the residents complain of chaos in them, in light of the control of the regime-backed gunmen.
The clashes came after the failure of the meeting held yesterday, Friday. However, no causalities were reported.
Yesterday, SOHR reported the return of the Russian delegation to Hamimim Military Airport from Al-Qamishly Airport in Al-Hasakah countryside, after failure of the meeting between head of Russian forces and Russian officers with representatives of SDF, discussing the lift of the siege imposed by SDF on the security squares in Al-Hasakah and Al-Qamishly
