Deir Ezzor | Syrian Observatory denies arrest of “Ibrahim Al-Hefel” by Russian military police
Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources denied what was circulated during the past hours about the Russian military police arresting Sheikh “Ibrahim Al-Hefel”, the leader of the so-called “Army of Tribes” backed by Iran, against the backdrop of the meeting held between the commander of the Russian forces and Russian officers with representatives of the Syrian Democratic Forces at Al-Qamishli Airport in Al-Hasakah countryside, coinciding with the continued state of tension and military escalation between SDF and Iranian-backed local groups.
The sources confirmed the presence of “Al-Hefel” in Al-Mayadeen city, which is held by the Iranian militias, to attend the funeral of the leader of the local groups “Fayez Al-Antar”, nicknamed “Abu Bashar”, who was killed yesterday in clashes with SDF.
SOHR sources reported that SDF demanded the Russian delegation, which arrived yesterday from Hmeimim, to hand over Ibrahim Al-Hafl and all individuals inciting against SDF for lifting the siege on the two regime’s security squares in Al-Hasakah and Al-Qamishly.
