Following promises by Russian delegation | SDF lift siege on the two security zones in Al-Qamishly and Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR sources have reported that SDF began lifting the siege on the security zones in Al-Hasakah and Al-Qamishly cities following promises by a Russian delegation to stop the attacks by local groups loyal to Iran and to keep the 4th Division away from Deir Ezzor countryside, replacing it with groups of the Republican Guard Forces.

This followed a meeting held in Al-Qamishly airport in Al-Hasakah countryside between a Russian delegation that included several officers and soldiers led by the Russian commander “Kislev” and representatives of SDF.

The agreement also included a prisoner-swap deal, according to which members of SDF, who had been detained by the Iranian-backed Ibrahim Al-Hafel groups, would be released in return for the release of 20 regime officers and soldiers, including a brigadier general, who were arrested in Al-Hasakah and Al-Qamishly.

Meanwhile, SDF agreed to lift the siege for fulfilling the agreed-upon conditions.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that a Russian delegation, including officers and soldiers, headed from Hmeimim airport to Al-Qamishly airport in Al-Hasakah countryside to hold a new meeting with officers and military leaders of regime forces and representatives of SDF to discuss the ongoing tension with SDF and to lift the siege which was imposed on the security zones in Al-Qamishly and Al-Hasakah cities.

This coincided with the flight of Russian helicopters over Al-Qamishly airport.
