For “participating in protests in Al-Suwaydaa” | A-Baath Party in Syria expels 100 working members in its ranks

Al-Suwaydaa province: The Central Committee of the “Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party” issued a statement to expel 100 “working members” in Al-Suwaydaa during a meeting that took place in May 28, for “participating in peaceful protests in Al-Suwaydaa demanding change.”

According to reliable SOHR sources, some of the expelled members haven’t attended any party meeting since 2014, where this is the first step of its kind in Al-Suwaydaa regarding the number of members expelled, in light of the escalation of the public refusal to “Al-Ba’ath Party” in Al-Suwaydaa.

Today, dozens of civilians demonstrated in Al-Karamah Square in the centre of Al-Suwaidaa city, on the occasion of the approaching of first anniversary of the peaceful movement of the people of the province. The demonstrators are demanding freedom and peaceful change of power, the toppling of the regime and its government and the implementation of international resolutions, most notably Resolution 2254, in addition to the release of all detainees in prisons.
