For six days | Local gunmen loyal to Iran fail to take control of any town in Deir Ezzor countryside

Areas in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside have witnessed a state of calm on both banks of the Euphrates river, where the attacks and clashes between SDF and local groups loyal to Iran have been ceased, where no infiltration attempts by both sides were documented.

According to SOHR sources, several towns and villages in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, near areas controlled by the regime forces and Iranian-backed militias, have witnessed noticeable movement of residents and markets and a partial return of families who had fled due to the heavy shelling.

On the other hand, International Coalition Forces and SDF launched drones over the Euphrates river from Al-Baseiyrah town to Jadidat Bakarah town to monitor unusual movements and detect any infiltration attempts by local groups supported by Iran.

Despite the large support from Iran and substantial military equipment, the local groups supported by Iran and regime have failed over the past six days to take control of any villages or towns in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside due to the residents’ rejection of the presence of these groups in their areas; this, in turn, contributed to warding off the sedition, just as they did last year.
