Daraa | Civilian killed and another injured in gunfire by regime forces in northern countryside
Daraa province: SOHR sources have reported that members of the regime state security branch stationed on the off-road to Al-Hara city opened fire on two civilians from Ankhil city in northern Daraa, killing one and injuring the other.
According to SOHR source, the two young men were escorting two gunmen, so they were ambushed by a local group from Namer town working for the state security branch in an area between Namer town and Al-Hara city.
This coincides with the escalating security chaos in regime-controlled areas.
Since early 2024, SOHR activists have documented 225 incidents of security disorder in Daraa province, which left 249 people dead; and they are as follows:
- 73 civilians, including six women and 18 children.
- 75 regime soldiers, members and collaborators with regime security services.
- 16 men accused of “involving in drug business.”
- Five members of the Russian-backed 8th Brigade.
- 17 ISIS members, including a commander.
- 54 members of local factions.
- Seven persons collaborating with the Lebanese Hezbollah.
- A regime dissident colonel.
- One unidentified person.
