Escalation of attacks | Extensive Russian airstrikes target positions of IS*IS in the Syrian Desert

Russian warplanes have carried out extensive airstrikes on positions of ISIS cells in Al-Rasafa Desert in Al-Raqqa countryside, and Al-Sukhna and Palmyra Deserts in eastern Homs countryside. However, no casualties among ISIS cells were reported.

ISIS cells significantly escalated rate of attacks against civilians and regime forces, where gunmen carried out three attacks in Homs Desert and Al-Raqqa Desert in the past few hours.

The Russian warplanes have carried out more than 30 airstrikes in August, targeting positions of ISIS cells in different areas of the Syrian Desert. However, these airstrikes haven’t succeeded in stopping attacks of ISIS.
