Military escalation | Turkish forces in “Peace Spring” areas shell a village in Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: Turkish forces stationed in Ras Al-Ain countryside within “Peace Spring” area, fired heavy artillery shells on Tel Taweel Village in Tel Tamr countryside within SDF-held area. However, no casualties were reported.

On August 29, a Russian vehicle ran over a woman in Derouna Agha village in Al-Qahtaniyah town in Al-Qamishli countryside, and she was taken to the hospital. The incident took place when residents refused the launch of a joint patrol between Russian and Turkish forces in the same village this morning, as residents threw stones at Turkish armoured vehicles.
Meanwhile, Russian forces fired live bullets at the demonstrators who refused the patrol’s passage in their village, in conjunction with the firing of tear gas to disperse them. According to information, residents were able to cancel the patrol that was supposed to roam Maabadah, Al-Jawadiyah and Al-Qahtaniyah.

It is noted that the Russian and Turkish forces began conducting joint patrols this month after they had stopped since last year, as on August 22, Russian and Turkish forces ran a joint military patrol in the western countryside of Al-Derbasiyah, consisting of four military armoured vehicles for each side.
