Abusing their owners | Fourth Division detains trucks carrying vegetables in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Members of the “Fourth Division” in Deir Ezzor detained trucks carrying vegetables coming from the Syrian Coast, to force their owners to pay 3,000,000 Syrian Liras as royalties for each truck as some trucks were detained for several days causing the vegetables to rot, which would cause rise in prices of vegetables increasing the suffering of the civilians in Deir Ezzor.

On August 24, members of the 4th Division stationed at Al-Panorama checkpoint at the southern entrance of Deir Ezzor city confiscated eight trucks carrying vegetables and goods for a week. The trucks, which came from Damascus and Homs provinces, were confiscated because their owners refused to pay levies imposed by the checkpoint’s members.

It worth noting that the 4th Division imposed a large levy of one to 15 million Syrian pounds on every truck crossing into Deir Ezzor city.
