Having failed to storm Zakyah town | Regime forces clash with local factions in western Rif Dimashq

Rif Dimashq province: Regime forces failed to storm Zakyah town in western Rif Dimashq, despite bringing in military reinforcement, including tanks and combatants, where armed clashes erupted between regime forces and local  factions. This coincided with artillery fire  targeting civilian homes in the town. However, no casualties have been reported.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that regime forces brought in military reinforcement, including combatants and tanks, to western Rif Dimashq, where it was deployed on the outskirts of Zakiah town. This coincided with the closure of the entrances of the town and the agricultural roads.

 

According to reliable SOHR sources, residents fear that the town may be stormed by the recently-deployed forces to force them to strike reconciliation deals with the regime.
