24 hours after having been kidnapped | Body of young man found dumped near bread bakery in western Daraa countryside

Daraa province: Residents found the body of a young man with gunshot wounds and hands bound and dumped near a bakery in Nawa city in western Daraa countryside, after having been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen yesterday evening in front of a restaurant in Nawa city centre.

 

It is worth noting that the reasons behind the crime and the identities of the killers remain unknown.

 

The Syrian Observatory has documented 241 murders in regime-controlled areas since early 2024, where domestic violence and armed robberies were behind some of these murders, while motives behind the others remained unknown. These murder crimes left 265 fatalities: 16 children, 51 women and 198 young and adult men. The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Daraa: 79 murder crimes left 71 men, seven children and 13 women dead.

 

  • Rif Dimashq: 45 murder crimes left 35 men, four children and 11 women dead.

 

  • Homs: 25 murder crimes left 22 men, a little girl and three women dead.

 

  • Al-Suwaidaa: 23 murder crimes left 15 men, a little boy and eight women dead.

 

  • Hama: 18 murder crimes left 13 men, six women and two children dead.

 

  • Tartus: 11 murder crimes left nine men, a child and a woman dead.

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 11 murder crimes left nine men and two women dead.

 

  • Damascus: Nine murder crimes left two women and eight men dead.

 

  • Latakia: Eight murder crimes left seven men and two women dead.

 

  • Aleppo: Nine murder crimes left six men and three women dead.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Two murder crimes left two men dead.

 

  • Al-Quneitra: One murder crime left a man dead.
