Security operation | Members of the General Security Service of HTS arrest five members of ISIS cells in Idlib countryside

Idlib province: The General Security Service carried out a security operation in Killay town in Idlib countryside against individuals belonging to a cell affiliated with ISIS , where they managed to arrest five individuals.
This comes as part of HTS efforts to pursue ISIS cells in areas under its control.

On August 25, SOHR sources reported that the General Security Services of HTS carried out a security operation in Termanin town in northern Idlib countryside, targeting a cell belonging to ISIS following monitoring of their movements in the town and setting up an ambush for them.

Armed clashes erupted between members of the General Security Service and members of the cell, after they had refused to hand themselves over to the General Security Service.

The clashes left a member of the cell called “Abdul Qader” and a member of the General Security Service dead and another member of the cell injured, before he was arrested.

On August 13, SOHR sources reported that the General Security Service of “HTS” set up an ambush in Deir Hassan area in the northern countryside of Idlib near one of the camps, targeting a car carrying people accused of belonging to the “Guardians of Religion” faction, including a person named “Abu Qaswarah Maarazaf”, after pursuing the car and the group refusing to stop, where the General Security Service members opened heavily shot the car after forcing it to stop, and clashed with its members, which led to the immediate killing of three of its members, the injury of a fourth member and the arrest of three others, and a member of the security forces was injured. This followed by a wide deployment and mobilization of the General Security Service members in the area and the setting up of a security checkpoint for several hours.
