Old vendetta | Violent clashes erupt between cousins in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: Violent clashes erupted with light and medium weapons between cousins “Al-Khalaf, Al-Shehab and Al-Madad” of “Al-Okaidat” Tribe in Al-Shaheel Town eastern of Deir Ezzor due to renewal of old vendetta. However, no casualties were reported.

The town witnesses repeated clashes between them in a state of chaos and appeals to dignitaries to interfere and end the conflict.

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 110 since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 63 people, including three women and three children, dead and 211 others injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

* Deir Ezzor: 68 infightings left 22 persons, including a child and two women, dead and 113 others injured.

* Al-Raqqah: 22 infightings left 23 people, including a child and a woman, dead and 55 others injured.

* Aleppo: Eight infightings left six civilians dead and 18 others, including an Asayish member, injured.

* Al-Hasakah: 12 infightings left 12 persons, including a woman, dead and 24 others injured.
