Ongoing violations in Afrin | Turkish-backed factions continue arresting and blackmailing civilians for fabricated accusations

Aleppo province: Members of a joint patrol of the Turkish intelligence and civil police arrested a civilian a few days ago in Tel Sallour village in Jendires district in Afrin countryside for unknown reasons.

Similarly, the military police arrested two young men from Afrin, after having returned from Lebanon on charge of “working in institutions of the former Autonomous Administration.” The military police members asked the young men’s families to pay ransoms for their release.

On the other hand, the military police released a civilian from Afrin, after having paid a ransom of 400 USD, where he had been arrested nearly a month ago for “cooperating with the former Autonomous Administration.”

On September 6, SOHR sources reported that the Military Police arrested a 41 year-old civilian from Midanky Village in Shira district, three months after he returned to his birthplace from Aleppo, where he was arrested near his house in Mi’arata Square in Efrin countryside for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration” and he was taken to an unknown destination with no information regarding his fate.

On the other hand, Turkish Intelligence arrested three civilians aged between 36 and 37 after they were reported by the mayor of Maska Village in Jinderes district in Efrin countryside, for “undergoing duty of Autonomous Defence during the control of the former Autonomous Administration” and they were taken to an unknown destination.
