Using pieces of paper | Residents in HTS-held areas condemn Turkish interference in the region’s affairs and call for restoring military decision
Several residents in areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham in north-western Syria expressed their discontent over the Turkish interference in the region’s affairs and Ankara’s dominance of the military decision.
According to SOHR sources, pictures of pieces of paper have been circulated in Abtin village, Qabtan Al-Jabal area, Aqrabat town and Deir Hassan camps in Aleppo and Idlib countryside. Slogans were written on the pieces of paper opposing practices and decisions by Turkish authorities in their areas and the presence of Turkish forces in north Syria.
The residents see that Erdogan has deceived the Syrian revolutionaries, and they called for restoring the military decision, according to the slogans written on the pieces of paper, some which read “Erdogan has deceived the Syrian Revolution, but he cannot oppress it, especially his evil intentions have been detected,” “the restoration of military decision is the first step to victory,” “in revolutions, gray is more destructive than black. Black is a clear enemy, but gray represents weak-willed players and undetected betrayers” and “we reached a critical stage with only two options: accepting normalization and giving up our land or restoring military decision which leads to victory.”
On September 13, SOHR sources reported that many cities, towns, and villages in north-western Syria, within HTS-held areas, witnessed mass demonstrations demanding the overthrow of the Syrian regime’s president and “Al-Julani,” the leader of HTS, the release of detainees in HTS prisons and the abolition of its General Security Service.
Dozens of people from Idlib, Ariha, Kafr Takharim, Qurqaneiya, Binnish, Deir Hassan, Atamah camps, Al-Atareb, Ebein Sam’an and Al-Saharah went out in protests, demanding HTS to stay away from civil administration in the region, emphasizing the necessity of achieving justice and freedom.
