Israeli cyberattack | Hezbollah’s “pagers” explode in range of 30 kilometres away from Lebanon border and no incidents documented in further areas

Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that reports on the death and injury of members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and Lebanese Hezbollah following the explosion of personal telecommunication devices “pagers” in areas in north and east Syria are completely untrue, where SOHR activists in these areas did not monitor any explosions or casualties.

 

SOHR sources also confirmed that the Syrian areas affected by the Israeli cyberattack are located in a range of 30 kilometres away from Lebanese territory, where no incidents were recorded in further areas.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that 14 people of unknown nationalities were injured in Damascus and Rif Dimashq, due to the explosion of personal communication devices of the Lebanese “Hezbollah.”

 

According to reliable SOHR sources, four people were injured in an explosion of a car near Kafr Sousa neighbourhood in the capital Damascus.

 

Seven people were injured in the vicinity of Al-Saida Zeinab area, while three people were injured in Al-Qalmoun area.

 

SOHR activists reported that several militiamen of the Lebanese Hezbollah arrived in hospitals in Damascus and Rif Dimashq provinces, after having sustained various injuries due to the explosion of communication devices they were carrying.

 

In Damascus, a communication device exploded in a car traveling on a road near Kafr Susah neighbourhood. This coincided with the explosion of other devices in Lebanon due to a cyber attack by Israel, which is the first of its kind to target communication devices used by Hezbollah members in Syria and Lebanon.
