After kidnap of Lebanese young man | Kidna*pped Syrians in Lebanon appeal to residents of Talbiseh to pressure the gang
Homs province: Syrian people kidnapped by people of Wady Khaled in Lebanon appealed to residents of Talbiseh City to pressure the gang that kidnapped the Lebanese young man “Osama Al-Ebaid” to release him, so that they would be released as well.
SOHR obtained voice records of the kidnappers in the Lebanese Wady Khaled area, showing the security threats against the kidnapped people by gunmen of Wady Khaled.
Yesterday, SOHR activists in Homs reported that a group of residents from Wadi Khaled area on the Syria-Lebanon border arrested a woman and her two children in Tripoli city in Lebanon.
This came as a response to the kidnapping of a Lebanese civilian living in Wadi Khaled area called “Ossama Al-Abid” last week by a gang of kidnappers who asked the kidnapped man’s family to pay a ransom of 400,000 USD in return for his release.
Residents of Wadi Khaled area accused a man from Talbiseh city in the northern countryside of Homs called “Madin Hadid” and nicknamed “Al-Barjas” of involving in the kidnapping of the man; this spurred “Al-Barjas” to record a voice note dismissing this accusation.
According to SOHR sources, the woman who was kidnapped from Tripoli is the sister of “Madin Hadid” and that she was kidnapped with her two children with the aim of exerting pressure on “Al-Barjas” to release “Ossama Al-Abid” as soon as possible.
A few hours after the kidnapping of the woman and her children, “Al-Barjas” threatened to attack regime security stations and breach the reconciliation deal that he had struck with regime forces in Talbiseh city last month, in the case that regime security services did not interfered to set his sister and her children free.
SOHR activists reported that “Al-Abid” was lured by a girl to Al-Abbasiyah neighbourhood, which is inhabited mostly by supporters of the Lebanese Hezbollah, before communication with the man were lost a few hours after he arrived in the neighbourhood.
According to SOHR sources, “Al-Abid” was taken from Al-Abbasiyah neighbourhood to a village in the northern countryside of Homs in coordination with “Jaafar Jaafar” with the aim of collecting a ransom from his family. It is worth noting that “Madin Hadid” has strong ties with “Jaafar Jaafar,” and this was the major reason behind setting blame on “Madin Hadid” for involving in the kidnapping of “Ossama Al-Abid.”
SOHR activists have also reported that residents of Talbiseh city in northern Homs issued a statement yesterday, calling upon the residents of Wadi Khalid area to set free all persons who were detained in that area following the kidnapping of “Ossama Al-Abid,” where they warned that every person from Wadi Khalid area would be a target for them in Homs city, in the case that their the kidnapped people from Talbiseh city were not released.
It is worth noting that regime security branches have not interfered to stop the exchange of kidnappings and threats in the region or set the kidnapped people free, at a time when the heads regime security branches are accused by both sides of “supporting kidnapping gangs and turning a blind eye to their crimes in return for taking the largest share of ransoms which kidnappers collect from the kidnapped persons’ families.”
On September 14, SOHR sources reported that a group of Turkey Al-Ebaid Family in Wady Khalid area on borders between Syria and Lebanon detained 12 people from villages and towns of northern Homs countryside, as a response to the kidnapping of a young man in Homs a few days earlier.
