Following its closure and activity of smuggling networks | Awn Al-Dadat crossing opens its doors to returnees from Lebanon

Aleppo province: Yesterday evening, Awn Al-Dadat crossing was opened to returnees from Lebanon after it was closed by the military police of the Turkish-backed factions.
According to information, about 500 people crossed to the “Euphrates Shield” areas, while families continue to arrive from the areas of the Manbij Military Council.
The returnees are subjected to violations, mistreatment and exploitation by local gunmen from the tribes who control the area between the two gates of Awn Al-Dadat crossing.
Awn Al-Dadat crossing is considered the main destination for civilians wishing to move between the areas of the Manbij Military Council on the one hand and “Euphrates Shield” areas on the other hand. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated at the time that the military police imposed royalties of up to 150 USD on each person in exchange for reaching the other gate held by the formations working with (SDF). Before the opening of the crossing, human smuggling operations increased after the military police closed Awn Al-Dadat humanitarian crossing in the southern countryside of Jarabulus, east of Aleppo.
The closure was in favour of the smuggling networks, where dozens of families are still stuck near Awn Al-Dadat Crossing waiting to be allowed to enter to “Euphrates Shield” areas.
