YPG demobilizes 21 children under the age of 18 from the military service in its ranks

Al- Hasakah Province:

Clashes took place between IS and YPG around the village of Ghzaylah in al- Houl area southeast of al- Hasakah. Other clashes took place between YPG, backed by al- Sanadid Army, against IS in the town of Tal Brakm information about the death of a YPG fighter.

 

Sound of explosion heard in the western countryside of al- Hasakah causied by explosion of a landmine around the village of Tal Baroud leading to kill a child while his grandmother wounded.

 

SOHR received a copy of a statement issued by YPG, where they confirmed that they demobilized children under 18 years old from YPG ranks. The statement announced that “the committee of investigation on recruiting those who are underage which belongs to the General Command of YPG demobilized 21 members of the military service in al- Jazira Canton because they do not meet the conditions of membership as they do not attain the legal age that is 18 years old. The committee in charge handed the demobilized personnel over to their relatives officially.” It is noted that SOHR sent several requests to YPG in order to stop recruiting children and to demobilize the children recruited earlier by YPG.
