IS plants houses in Menbej countryside and arrests 200 young men

Clashes taking place between IS and SDF near al-Arima area 19 KM west of Menbej on the road between Menbej and al-Bab city. SOHR was informed that the IS planted the houses northeast of al-Kawkali village to prevent SDF from advancing on the strategic road of Menbej-Aleppo-Albab.

Sources confirmed to SOHR that the IS detained 200 men from al-Kawkali village and al-Arima during raids in the areas, in order to join the battles against SDF, many civilians were able to escape the villages. Clashes are taking place between IS and SDF east of Menbej city between Basti and Ein al-Nakhil villages, what rose the number of SDF who were killed so far to 41, since May/31.

SDF found 78 corpses for militants in IS who were killed by aerial bombardment by the coalition warplanes and during clashes between the two sides around the city, what rose the number of deaths in IS to 352, also rose to 37 the number of militants in SDF who were killed during clashes against IS around Menbek, the number of civilians who were killed during the military operations around the city also rose to 78 including 25(A man with his wife, sister, brother, and 2 of his children ) were killed during an attempt to escape the city, in adition to 5 children and 2 women who were shot and killed by IS militants in Menbej city, 2 men killed by landmine planted by IS in Om al-Safa village, a woman with 2 of her children and their wives in addition to 2 children were shot and killed by IS militants in the city, while no less than 49 civilians including 16 children and 10 women in addition to 10 prisoners were killed by the coalition airstrikes targeted Menbej city and the village of Ojaqnah.
