“Sharia Court in Aleppo and its countryside” issues a “general amnesty” for its prisoners
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received a copy of the statement by “Sharia Court in Aleppo and its countryside”, which included an “amnesty for detainees in its prison who were sentenced until the date of issuing the amnesty”, the statement said:
“On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, which its arrival was accompanied by God’s conquests solutions to our brothers the mujahideen, who broke the will of the tyrants on the land of our beloved Sham, and confirming that the ultimate goal of punishing the perpetrators is the reform, the Sharia Court in Aleppo and its countryside issues an amnesty for its detainees who were sentenced until the date of issuing this amnesty, according to the following materials:
Article 1: The amnesty includes the following:
– The complete sentence for sentences no more than six months.
– Two-thirds of the sentence for the sentences longer the six-month period and does not exceed one year.
– Half of the sentence for the sentences more than one year and not more than two years.
– A quarter of the sentence for the sentences that exceed the duration of two years.
Article 2: Benefit from this amnesty those who fulfil the following conditions:
1 – To obtain a certificate of good conduct in from those in charge of religious guidance in prison
B – He should not be convicted by a sentence decided by Sharia Text for the crimes of Hudud and Qisas
C – He should not to be convicted by crimes of drug trafficking, crimes related to the security of the revolution or prostitution crimes.
D – All his personal rights that he is obliged with; should be paid, as well as the fines of the public treasury
Article 3: Those sentenced in absentia can benefit from this amnesty if they turn themselves in to the Court within sixty days from the date of issuing this amnesty”
