Clashes in several areas at Manbij after Syria Democratic Forces’ control of more than 60% of the city

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that Manbij city and several areas at its outskirts are still witnessing clashes between the “Islamic state” which its members retreated toward the center of the city against The Syria Democratic Forces, who achieved widespread advancement during the past two days in neighborhoods and new areas within the city, and now the Syria Democratic Forces control more than 60%, of the city, they have also achieved a strategic advancement by controlling the road connecting the al-Arima village located about 18 kilometers to the west of Manbij city and all the way through to Manbij city until al-Ya’arobiyyeh area (Tal Kojer) on the Syrian – Iraqi border at the countryside of Al-Hasakah, also hundreds of families have left in the 24 past hour the organization’s controlled areas in the city Manbij towards the areas controlled by Syria Democratic Forces, while two fighters were killed, one of them is named Dayan Carl Evans, a British citizen killed in the clashes along with the Syria Democratic Forces against the “Islamic state” in Manbij area about 10 days ago, while the second man named Martin Krodan and he is a Slovenian citizen and was also killed in the same circumstances at Manbij area about week ago, which rias to 214, the number of fighters from Syria Democratic Forces -including commander of Shams al-Shamal Brigades Faisal Saadoun known as “Abu Laila”- of whom were killed in bombing and explosions of booby trapped vehicles and sniper fire in the city of Manbij and its countryside, and reliable sources suggested that reason behind this high number of casualties among the Syria Democratic Forces is due to snipers, booby trapped vehicles and mine explosion, while SOHR received confirmed information about killing several from members the organization in the clashes that took place today, also SOHR received information about finding bodies belong to members from the organization, they were killed earlier while inspecting areas in the southern countryside of Manbij.
