After more than 1600 days and the death of about 21500 civilians… Bashar al-Assad’s regime forces regain control of Aleppo city with the support of its loyal parties

With the exit of the last batch of besieged people out of the factions’ controlled square in the southwestern section of the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city, the regime forces backed by the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian nationality, the Lebanese Hezbollah, Iranian Revolutionary Guards and other gunmen of non-Syrian nationalities, were able to restore control of the entire city of Aleppo, except for points controlled by factions and in which they position at Jam’eyyat al-Zahra’a neighborhood at the western outskirts of Aleppo city, after 1612 days of control by the rebel and Islamic factions on the eastern side of Aleppo city, which is after 4 years and 5 months, and which was started by the factions in the 21st of July 2012, by attack under the leadership of the martyr Abdel Qader Saleh, the commander of Al-Tawhid Brigade, which began by controlling Masaken Hanano neighborhood and other areas in the eastern part of Aleppo city, and being able to besiege regime forces’ controlled areas in Aleppo city, during the first half of the year 2013, until Iran helped the regime to lift the siege and reopen the road of Aleppo – Khanasser, and regain control of al-Sfireh town in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.

The residents of the western neighborhoods which are controlled by the regime forces in Aleppo city rely in securing the material (into their besieged areas by the factions) on Bostan al-Qasr crossing, which gone famous in the period of the factions’ besiege for regime forces’ controlled areas in the city of Aleppo.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 21452 Syrian civilian citizens killed in Aleppo province, since the start of the Syrian revolution in March 2011 until today the 21st of December 2016, the date of restoring control of Aleppo by Bashar al-Assad’s regime and parties loyal to him, and within the total number of civilian casualties there are 5261 children under the age of eighteen and 2777 citizen women over the age of eighteen in Aleppo province, they were killed by bombing by regime’s warplanes and the Russian warplanes, dropping barrel bombs by helicopters, the shelling by the regime forces, regime’s snipers and militiamen loyal to them, regime’s security detentions, bombing by warplanes of the International Coalition, bullets, shells and hands of the factions of the Syria Democratic Forces, and at the “Islamic State’s” hands, planted mines, shells and bullets, and bullets of the Turkish border guards, and other conditions.

It is worth mentioning that about 100 thousand people got out of factions’ controlled areas in the eastern part of Aleppo city to areas where the regime forces have advanced to and controlled in the eastern part of Aleppo city, and to the western section which is under the control of the regime forces in the city, also about 30 thousand people displaced to areas controlled by the Syria Democratic areas Forces in Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood and to areas that they advanced to later in Bustan al-Basha and the northern section of the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city, while about 20 thousand people were displaced from the factions’ controlled square in the southwestern section of the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo to al-Rashedin area in the western countryside of Aleppo, within the Turkish – Russian agreement.

While the displacement operation out of the factions’ controlled box witnessed an obvious confusion by the international and local organizations about the numbers of persons who got out of this square, before the last batch that got out on Wednesday the 21st of December 2016, which was almost 4 thousand people, the numbers varied between a local Organization that declared the exit of about 17 thousand people from Aleppo city to the western countryside, through the organization of Usha which announced 19 thousand, to the international Red Cross who went on public opinion with the number 25 thousand, this confusion showed the desire of these organizations not to take back the numbers that they announced at earlier regarding the number of people inside this square in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city.
