The 17th hour of the truce is witnessing its first casualty since the start of the Russian – Turkish cease-fire agreement in Syria
Explosions were heard in the countryside of Daraa city, caused by the fall of shells on areas in Khabab village, located in the northeastern countryside of Daraa which caused injuries, and one of them in a critical condition, while reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights the death of a person by a sniper shot in the Eastern Ghouta.
Most areas of Syria are still witnessing a calm atmosphere, but with an escalation of shelling on the northern countryside of Hama, the southern countryside of Idlib and in Wadi Barada in Rif Dimashq, accompanied by clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic factions and Fath al-Sham Front in the vicinity of Bsima area and other areas in Wadi Barada, and the continued calm atmosphere comes with the completion of the first 17 hours of the Russian – Turkish cease-fire.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented today the fall of 2 rocket shells on areas on the outskirts of Douma city, amid sporadic clashes on the outskirts of al-Mid’aani town in al-Marj area in the Eastern Ghouta, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the Islamic factions, also warplanes continued carrying out airstrikes on the northern countryside of Hama and the southern countryside of Idlib, where about 20 airstrikes targeted Skik village and the road of Tal Aas – Khan Shaykhun, and on the towns and villages of Kafr Zita, Al-Lataminah, Morek, Halfaya, al-Zowwar and Al-Lataminah, no information about casualties So far.
This Russian – Turkish truce is the third ceasefire in Syria during the year 2016, and it started at midnight of Thursday – Friday the 30th of December 2016, also a Russian – American cease-fire took place in most areas of Syria and continued since 7 in the evening of the 12th of September 2016 until 7 in the evening of the 19th of September 2016, also it was preceded by a truce and a cease-fire in Syria in the 27th of February 2016, but the agreement fell apart in the last third of April 2016, and the military machines re-started the killing and the escalation of bombing on most areas of Syria
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented in the second hour of start of the Russian – Turkish ceasefire the break out of clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against an Islamic factions that were not identified until this moment, and it is not known whether they were from al Jund al- Aqsa who “swore allegiance” to Fath al-Sham Front or not, the clashes took place in Peugeot Hill area in the vicinity of Mharda town at the northern countryside of Hama, and due to the clashes the regime forces withdrew from the hill but later they the re-control it, at least 6 members of the regime forces were killed and wounded in the same clashes, also the sounds of shooting were heard in the northern countryside of Hama, they were caused by targeting by the regime forces using heavy machineguns on areas of Tayyibat al-Imam town and Btish village in the northern countryside of Hama.
