With the siege’s 3rd year… the “Islamic State” organization cuts the supply roads between Deir Ezzor and its airbase, divides neighborhoods to eastern and western

The most violent battle in a year continue in Deir Ezzor city in its third day, it was erupted at the dawn of the 14th of January 2017 by the “Islamic State” organization organization’s violent attack on most of the areas in the city and its surroundings, and around its airbase and the Brigade 137, and the mountain which overlooks the city.
The Syrian Observatory for human rights was informed that the battels are still taking place in its full swing between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the “Islamic State” organization, amid of an intense and violent exchange of shelling between both parties, in conjunction with tens of airstrikes carried out by warplanes since this morning on neighborhoods of the city, its surroundings, the “Islamic State” organization’s controlled sites, and on the fight fronts between both parties, also the observatory learned that the continued clashes enabled the organization to achieve an important advancement and control of al-Jaryah residential project and sites and points in the vicinity of airbase, and also enabled the organization to cut the road of supply from the city to Deir Ezzor airbase, which in turn enables the organization to divide the city into two parts; eastern and western, separated by the area that the organization advanced to after controlling the mountain that overlooks Deir Ezzor city yesterday, also the organization was able to control the block factory area near the airbase hours ago, the organization also achieved an advancement at al-Ommal neighborhood inside the city, while violent clashes continue between both parties in the al-Ommal neighborhood and other areas in the city, in conjunction with the clashes’ continuation in the vicinity of the airbase, where the regime forces are desperately attempting to regain control of the areas they have lost. The clashes were accompanied by heavy shelling by the regime forces on the city and on the fight fronts, and also caused casualties in the ranks of both parties.
