Clashes in the western desert of Palmyra and shelling targets al-Wa’er

The regime forces shelled areas in al-Wa’er neighborhood using several mortar and tank shells, no information about casualties, also the regime forces targeted places Jab al-Jarrah town which is controlled by the regime forces in the eastern countryside of Homs, no information about injuries yet, while clashes are taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the “Islamic State” organization in areas at the western desert of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs, and information about casualties in the shelling and clashes in the ranks of both.
The “Islamic State” organization still holds the majority of areas it advanced to in its offensive, which began on the 8th of December 2017, and the regime forces was not been able so far to advance except for the abandoned the battalion, which was free of both parties, and hills in the vicinity of al-Tayyas village near the T4 airbase, and wells and villages between the village of al-Tayyas and Qasr al-Hayr al-Gharbi, in addition to their advancement to the Junction of Hajjar Field and controlling military and by firearms on Hayan company area and advancing in locations used to be controlled by the organization, while the regime forces in the recent days have stilled in their place, about 29 km, which is the closest distance they reached west of Palmyra city, despite the pass of 30 days of their start of a violent counter attack on the areas that the “Islamic State” organization advanced to, and the news about regime’s approach for a 20 km distance from Palmyra city is not true.
