A firefight between members of the “Islamic State” organization and helicopters that flew at low altitude and destroyed 2 vehicles of the organization in the countryside of al-Bokmal

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from reliable sources about the flight of helicopters at low altitude, it is believed that they belong to the International Coalition in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor after the midnight of Tuesday the 16th of May 2017.

Reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the flight took place in al-Siyyal village located in the countryside of al-Bokmal city, where they launched flares in the sky of the area where al-Safa company is, which is taken as a headquarters by the “Islamic State” organization, the sources confirmed that an exchange of fire took place between members on the helicopters and between members of the organization stationed at Headquarters and others members who were traveling in 2 cars near the company, where the helicopters targeted the organization’s car and destroyed it, and it is not known whether the attacking force carried out a landing operation to transfer agents and collaborators from the area, or if they targeted at one of the organization’s leaders, also the Syrian Observatory hasn’t received accurate information yet about the numbers of human casualties.
