More than 20 casualties and injuries in a car bomb explosion in al-Zahra neighborhood in Homs

Homs province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that more than 20 person were killed and injured in an explosion of a pick-up car drove by two persons near the Emergency Center in al-Zahra neighbourhood in Homs city, which is under the control of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, where 4 persons so far were confirmed dead including a woman and the director of the Emergency Centre in the neighborhood, and more than 15 persons were wounded including 5 citizen women, while several mortar shells fell after midnight of yesterday on areas in the village of Maksar al-Hsan which is under the control of the regime forces in the eastern countryside of homes, while violent clashes are taking place since the dawn of today between the “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in the road between the cities of Palmyra and al-Sokhna in the eastern countryside of Homs and in the hills of al-Qaryatayn in the southeastern countryside for Homs, after an attack by the regime forces on the area in order to achieve new advancement and regain control of areas they lost earlier in favor of the organization, where the regime forces advanced and controlled hills and points in the area.
