Regime forces restore about 6000 square kilometers within 16 days with the support of the Russian Air Force and their loyal gunmen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities

The clashes continue between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the “Islamic State” organization in areas in the contact lines between both parties in the eastern and southeastern desert of Homs, the pace of the clashes decreased after the wide advancement achieved by the regime forces at the expense of the “Islamic State” organization, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Iraqi, Afghan, Iranian and Lebanese nationalities were able yesterday of achieve advancement in about 1000 square kilometers (386.1 square miles) at the expense of the organization, and with this advancement the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them have recovered about 6000 square kilometers (2316.6 square miles)of the Syrian Desert in Rif Dimashq and Homs provinces since the 9th of May 2017, this recovery took place at the expense the “Islamic State” organization and at the expense of the US-backed Syrian opposition factions, where the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them have advanced in the area stretching from al-Mahsa area and its vicinity south to the hills around al-Barda area north, and Al-Sekkary East and until the triangle of Zaza in the south, also the regime forces advanced in an arrow shape from Zaza checkpoint until al-Shahmi and Zarka areas on the road leading to al-Tanat International Crossing.
