About 19 weeks after the start of their military operation … Hundreds of meters separate Tiger groups and Hezbollah’s Elite from the last town controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in Aleppo province

Violent clashes continue between “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces backed by militiamen loyal to them, and the Lebanese Hezbollah’s Elite forces in areas in the far eastern countryside of Aleppo, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces managed to achieve a new advance and became hundreds of meters away from Maskanah town, which is the last town controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in Aleppo province, and the Syrian Observatory learned that the regime forces led by Tiger groups managed to control farms near Maskanah town, which allowed them to advance more towards the town.

The reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the regime forces today managed to widely advance in the eastern countryside of Aleppo reaching to the outskirts of Maskanah town, with a cover of continuous and escalating aerial bombardment, in conjunction with intense shelling by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and this advancement towards the outskirts of Maskanah town came after controlling more than 10 villages and farms between their advancement line towards Maskanah and Sabkhat al-Jabboul

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the withdrawal of the “Islamic State” organization towards the walls and inside the town of Maskanah, which has been witnessing for days continuous raids and shelling by the regime forces and the Russian forces and their warplanes, where it has risen to more than 150, the number of airstrikes carried out by the warplanes and helicopters on Maskanah town and its countryside since 5 days ago, in the framework of the military operation launched by the regime forces on the 17th of January 2017 led by Tiger Groups which are led by the Brigadier in the regime forces Suhail al-Hassan, and controlled tens of villages, towns and farms in the northeastern and eastern countryside of Aleppo, most notably Deir Hafer, al-Khafsah, al-Mahdoum, Aran and al-Jarrah airbase, and were able to reach the outskirts of the last town controlled by “Islamic State” organization in Aleppo province, Maskanah town, which is 15 km away from the administrative border of al-Raqqa province.
