The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

The grand battle of Al-Raqqah city has become closer after controlling Hunaida, Mansoura and al-Baath Dam

Al-Raqqah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the inspection operations in the village of Hunaida, Al-Baath Dam and al-Mansoura town continue by the Syria Democratic forces, supported by the US-Special Forces, to remove mines and explosive devices and to search for members of the “Islamic State” organization who refused to withdraw and chose to stay and fight until the end against the forces of the “Euphrates Wrath” operations, and the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights learned that the remaining members refused to withdraw from the village of Hunaida, al-Baath Dam and Mansoura town and exit with the rest of the groups that got out of organization’s members and their families, who withdrew from Mansoura, Hunaida and Al-Baath Dam to other areas controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in Al-Raqqah province, after an intervention by elders and clan mediators in the area.

This advancement allows the forces of “Euphrates Wrath” operation to extend their control in the southern banks of the Euphrates River, where they have controlled more than 50 km of the southern bank of the river, most notably Al-Tabaqa city and Mansoura town, which is the largest town in the western countryside of Raqqa, and now the “Euphrates Wrath” forces are about 2 km east of Al-Raqqah city, 3 km north of the it, about 7 km of the west side at the northern banks of the river, and about 10 km of the southern banks of the river.
