“Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces approach the western entrances of the capital of the “Islamic State” organization and continue their attempts to go deep into the eastern outskirts of Al-Raqqah city

Al-Raqqah city, the stronghold of the “Islamic State” organization is witnessing continued shelling by warplanes of the International Coalition in conjunction with shelling by the force the “Euphrates Wrath” operation on areas in the city and its outskirts, which caused damage and destruction to the property of citizens and destruction in the public facilities, and these bombardments were accompanied with clashes, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that al-Mashlab neighborhood witnessed continued attempts by the Syrian Elite Forces to go deeper into the neighbourhood located at the eastern outskirts of Al-Raqqah city, where the clashes continue between them against members of the “Islamic State” organization, also the clashes continue between the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the US Special Forces and International Coalition’s warplanes inside and around the Division 17 area, in conjunction with the clashes between both parties in areas in west of Al-Raqqah city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that the Syria Democratic Forces managed to achieve advancement in the western front of the city and controlled Qal’aat Hirql at the western outskirts of al-Herqliyyeh area w9 of al-Sabahiya neighborhood, where the last mentioned is considered the city’s west entrance, and the Syria Democratic Forces are trying to hold their ground and strengthen their control and continue their offensive, to get deep and reach the west entrance of the city, and clashes are accompanied by exchange of targeting between both parties, and information about casualties in the ranks of both parties.
