With cover of artillery and air strikes … Tiger Groups and the Elite of Hezbollah seek to go into Al-Raqqah and reach its first town

Aleppo province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: clashes renewed between the “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces led by Tiger Groups and the support of the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and the Elite Forces of the Lebanese Hezbollah, in areas at the administrative borders of Al-Raqqah province with Aleppo province, where the clashes are accompanied by airstrikes by warplanes believed to be Russian warplanes, and shelling by the regime forces target the “Islamic State” organization’s controlled areas at the far western countryside of Al-Raqqah.
These renewed clashes and aerial and artillery shelling, comes in an attempt by the regime forces to advance and go into the western countryside of Al-Raqqah province, and reach the town of Debsi Afnan, within the framework of the continued operation by the regime forces since the 17th of January 2017, during which the regime forces managed to regaining control over tens of villages, farms and towns, most notably the town of Maskanah and the town of Deir Hafer, Arran, al-Mahdoum and Al-Khafseh, in an attempt by the regime forces to go deep in Al-Raqqah province, which they have not been able to enter for about a year.
