Syrian Elite Forces and the Syria Democratic Forces achieve strategic advancement and control al-Sinaa neighborhood in conjunction with the evacuation of civilians
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that Syrian Elite Forces and Syria Democratic Forces backed by the US Special Forces and the International Coalition’s warplanes managed to carry out the most important advancement in al-Raqqa city, which is the stronghold of the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, where cross sources asserted to the Syrian Observatory that these forces controlled al-Sena’a neighborhood, which is the second neighborhood to be completely controlled in the eastern side of al-Raqqa city, and the third neighborhood to be controlled in the whole city of al-Raqqa, while the clashes are accompanied by exchange of shelling between “Euphrates Wrath” operation forces and the “Islamic State” organization and shelling by the forces on areas and position controlled by the “Islamic State”.
This advancement allowed the Syrian Elite Forces and Syria Democratic Forces to go deep into the city, and the forces became in contact line with the walls of the Old City, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored tens of civilians going out from Al-Raqqa city and Al-Sena’a neighborhood to the areas controlled by Syria Democratic Forces and Syrian Elite Forces in the east of the city, as they were taken to the east of the city through al-Mashlab neighborhood.
Reliable sources asserted to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that al-Sena’a neighborhood and al-Mashlab neighborhood are still being targeted by mortar shell by the “Islamic State” organization, in conjunction with sniping operation carried out by the members of the “Islamic State” from al-Raqqa city and from the southern banks of the Euphrates River.
