SDF advance west of Al-Raqqah and clashes east of it to isolate the “Islamic State” organization within the city
Warplanes are still flying in the sky of al-Raqqa, which is the stronghold of the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, and they are carrying airstrikes on areas controlled by the organization in the city, amid shelling by the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces on areas in the city, while clashes are still taking place between Syria Democratic Forces backed by the US Special Forces against the “Islamic State” organization in the outskirts of the al-Bareed neighborhood and in Hutteen neighborhood in the western part of al-Raqqa city, amid an exchange of targeting between both parties, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the offensives of the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces aim at isolating the “Islamic State” organization inside the center of the city from the Division 17 and the north of the city, where reliable sources asserted to the Syrian Observatory that Syria Democratic Forces managed to advance and control buildings in the west of al-Bareed neighborhood from the side of al-Romaniya neighborhood.
Clashes are also taking place between Syria Democratic Forces and the Syrian Elite Forces backed by the US Special Forces against the “Islamic State organization in areas in the eastern outskirts of al-Raqqa city, within the offensive carried out by the “Euphrates Wrath” operation, of which the forces aim to fully control the eastern outskirts of the city, amid an exchange of targeting, and counter attacks carried out by members of the “Islamic State” organization, which are accompanied by explosions, in an attempt by the organization to confuse the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces and cause human losses in their ranks, where information was received about human losses in the ranks of both parties, while reliable sources asserted to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces are preparing to launch violent offensive from the eastern outskirts of al-Raqqa city towards the Old City adjacent to the western outskirts of al-Sinaa neighborhood.
