The news about the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them reaching the Iraqi borders again or recovering large areas again from the Syrian Desert is false

Several reliable sources denied to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights the news about the Syrian regime’s media and other close media, that the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi, Afghan and Iranian nationalities were able to achieve a broad advancement in the Syrian Desert, and reach the Syrian-Iraqi border again, this news is false, and the sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that what happened is an advancement by the Iraqi forces on the Iraqi side from Al-Walid crossing –which is the Iraqi side of the Tanf crossing–towards the northeast, and reaching the opposite side of the advancement of the regime forces that they achieved on the 9th of June 2017, during which fighters loyal to the regime of non-Syrian nationalities and the regime forces were able to reach the Iraqi border with the eastern Desert of Palmyra, cross sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the operation of advancement was carried out by the loyalist gunmen of the regime of non-Syrian nationalities and the regime forces who are positioned in the Syrian desert east and southeast of Palmyra city, by turning around a camp of the factions supported by the International Coalition in the area, located about 20 kilometers from the camp which is located about 50 kilometers to the east of al-Tanf border crossing, which is controlled by these factions.
