Syria Democratic Forces get ahead of the regime forces in controlling the 1st village north of al-Resafa city in the southern countryside of Al-Raqqah

Al-Raqqah Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: several reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the Syria Democratic Forces advanced in the north of al-Resafa city and controlled al-Shwihna village located at about 4 km north of al-Resafa city, which was controlled by the “Islamic State” organization, where the vicinity of al-Resafa witnessed yesterday clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces against the regime forces and their Syrian and non-Syrian allied militiamen, where the clashes stopped hours after its outbreak yesterday the 18th of June 2017, after the International Coalition downed a warplane belongs to the regime by targeting it while flying over al-Resafa, while the fate of its pilot is still unknown so far.
This control came hours after the regime forces controlled al-Resafa city located at al-Raqqah –Al-Salamiyah road. With this progress, the Syria Democratic Forces and the regime forces have become in a direct contact from the waterline extending from the Euphrates River between al-Bu’aasi and Shu’ayb al-Thekr in the west countryside of al-Tabqa, to al-Resafa – al-Raqqah road.
