Continued violent clashes west of Al-Raqqah city between the “Euphrates Wrath” operation Forces and ISIS

Al-Raqqah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: violent clashes continued in the area between west of Al-Hal Market and east of Hisham Ben Abdel Malik neighborhood in the southern part of Al-Raqqah city, along the northern banks of the Euphrates between the Syria Democratic Forces, who are in charge of the International Coalition backed “Euphrates Wrath” operation on one hand and ISIS on the other, amid their continued attempts to advance more and move deeper into Al-Raqqah city. The SOHR published last night that the SDF who are in charge of the execution of the “Euphrates Wrath” operation managed to make an advancement after hours of fighting with ISIS. The SDF managed to take control of Al-Hal Market and they became so close to Hisham Ben Abdel Malik neighborhood, which is considered the first neighborhood in the south of Al-Raqqah city and the one adjacent to the northern banks of the Euphrates. Simultaneously, the SDF managed to take control of more places in Al-Sinaa neighborhood with only the part adjacent to the old city remaining under the control of ISIS. The SOHR documented the death of at least 23 SDF members during the last 24 hours as a result of shelling, bombings and clashes with ISIS that took place in the last few days and the funeral of some of them was held today.
